UX/UI Design
Recommender Tool is a web-based product that serves as recommending learners actions they could take after a Teach-Out course on Coursera for Michigan, based on learners' answers of the follow-up survey after each unit of the course.
Teach-Outs are topic and discussion based online courses. To encourage learners’ continuing learning experience, we recommend multiple actions depnding on what the topic leads iteself to.
Actions we currently recommend are not tailored to the individual in a meaningful way and might not be as actionable as we would like, and it’s difficult to recommend an action without knowing a learner’s opinions or level of motivation.
To design and develop a light-weight web application to be plugged into online courses, to help us know more about learners’ opinions on the topic, and assist recommend learners tailored actions in a meaningful way.
I started the whole process by conducting competitive analysis to generate the key components and elements of a survey tool.
The competitive analysis I conducted earlier helped to further brainstormed and ideated the key features, components and the user flow the recommender tool should have.
I firstly brainstormed the features of the tool and further ideated the key features it should have for each of the feature.
Having the features in mind, I created a flow map to visualize the user journey of the app.
